Because fear is a very strong emotion - irrational, but powerful.

Because as time goes on, governments invariably move closer to totalitarianism, and ours is no exception. We’re almost there now.

We have gun control and way to much regulation. Every study and situation has repeatedly shown that to take away guns is to increase crime. Why is it so hard to let people have their constitutional rights when it is a right that greatly benefits society?

Because the “powers that be” don’t want you to have guns. Once you disarm a nation they are a whole lot easier to take down. Watch our for Change.

At this moment in time, there are over 200 laws enacted concerning gun control. The age for buying, waiting laws before taking home, the type of weapon, barrel length, size of caliber, background checks by vaious authorities, where you can have guns ( within distances of schools, etc), concealed carry laws, laws about carrying in certain public places ( such as bars, banks, airports, etc).

The honest law abiding citizen has no problems in following the legal prohibitions that are out there. Notices are posted on public buildings and on private enterprises so the individual is aware they cannot carry a weapon legally and they dont.

Much the same as the honest citizen who attends his safety classes to get a concealed carry permit and then follows the law when carrying.

The entire problem is with the criminal element. They are criminals because they have NO intention of following the law. Weapons are always available on the black market for a price. The more restrictive the laws are just drives up the price for the stolen guns that are out there.

The best way to combat this situation is to enforce the current laws through the judicial system with the criminals. Tougher laws and enforced sentencing in prison for using weapons during the commission of a crime. The actual problems were are encountering today is a liberalistic view by law makers and the court system where a violator is given a slap on the wrist instead of punishment. Only when this situation is recognized and corrected will it change.

If you want to see what happens when law abiding citizens have weapons taken away, look at what happened in Australia. 465,000 legally owned weapons were surrendered and destroyed when weapons were abolished. Within 1 year, the murder rate in the state of Victoria went up 400%. The bad guys kept their illegal weapons and now knew that everyone else had no way of defending themselves. They went on a rampage of violence and the Australian lawmakers couldnt figure out why their great idea failed.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful to you
