Anyone have experience with RPK’s, or this model in particular? What parts can i get for it (sight rails, stocks, etc)?

Like i said, i’ve already got hi-power stuff, like a Tikka T3 .223, Savage Mako .17HMR, .308 semi (but it’s a nice deer gun, and only like a 4-shot mag, pricy rounds too) and a 30-06, but for something like a critter that’s running around, i want a large-magazined semi auto with cheap ammo that has more stopping power than a .22LR, so 7.62×39 just wins me over. Plus it’s fun to tear up old appliances with some bump-fire (i have neighbors nearby so i’m not doing any illegal mods in case they ever called the cops despite it being rural Iowa and my house being safely far away, shooting always away from any property with a field creating a hill down-range, not worth risking throwing my life away).

So, wanting a large-capacity semi-auto 7.62×39mm rifle of relative affordability and “coolness”, i think the RPK AES-B (heavy barrel) should fit my needs. I just like the idea of a heavy machine gun, except this is a legal semi, with cheap ammo.

I.e. We may be making progress in Iraq, and they have no real chance of competing with Jet fighters and tanks for long, but they still are able to slow down the process with their AK47’s and Rocket Launchers etc. and still manage to kill numbers of our troops.

Will there ever come a time when our military technology is just so far in advance, (maybe because of heavy and expensive computerised involvement), that affordable guns and missles don’t work against it, and most countries simply could not afford to buy anything comparable to it?
