airsoft question?

i just bought a spring powered Carbine Panther M16-A1 airsoft gun, it has 3 settings, Safety, Semi, and Auto. i read the direction and it says that there is no difference between semi and auto, why would they even bother putting that on?

I currently just own a cheap walmart pistol. Does this look any good. I’ve read reviews on shorty usa and its rated very good. Is there any other better shotguns? Also Which is better, the full stock, Retractable stock, or Pistol Grip?

It says it can be used as a bb repeater or a single shot pellet rifle. Does this mean I have to cok it every time I shot, or can I load it cok it once and shot it reapeatedly(until magazine runs out).
