What is a fair price for these two handguns?

I have recently taken up shooting for sport and found I really enjoyed shooting both the Glock 17 and S&W 619. I want to begin comparison shopping local gun shops for both firearms but don’t have any frame of reference re: price aside from MSRP. What is a realistic, yet fair price to look for for each of these handguns? Thanks!

Ammo reloding kits?

Now that Ive had firearms for several months I realize that I need a reloader. 45 and 223 rounds are expensive at the store, and I know from buying rounds at gun shows that I’m getting bent over and pounded every time I pay $8 for 20 .223’s at Wal-Mart. I know nothing about reloading ammo, but it can’t be that complicated, I would just like some thoughts on some good ones. (and cheap) Thanks.

Agree or disagree: “Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself”?

“Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence…. From the hour the pilgrims landed, to the present day events, occurrences and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and the pistol are equally indispensable… The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference–the deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.”

Are you glad the Supreme Court is finally taking some of the guns off the streets?

In its first gun case since the landmark Heller decision, the Supreme Court wisely upheld a “reasonable restriction” — namely, keeping guns out of the hands of convicted misdemeanor….In addition, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, speaking for the 7-2 majority, cited the Brady Center brief when she wrote that “firearms and domestic strife are a potentially deadly combination nationwide.”
If you are convicted of a misdemeanor you are a criminal. I thought we all agreed that we want to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

Gun laws for spouses of felons?

While it is illegal for a felon to own or posess firearms, and that while on parole, a felon may not be in a residence where firearms are present, is it legal for the spouse of a felon to purchase and posess a firearm if it is not in the potential control of the felon?

Worse Invention/Discovery: Cigarettes and Tobacco or Firearms?

we all know the destructive capabilities of both but the thing is, weapons can still hurt you and not be firearms, and firearms like nuclear weapons sort of keep peace because people become frightened of one anothers potential, on the otherside, cigarettes are almost all bad and though they help with somethings, if they werent smoked at all no one would argue im sure…

so to you which is the worst “invention” cigarettes or guns
to clarify by “worst” i should have said “destructive” but i thought those are kind of synonyms

What are some good ways to talk to children about the dangers of firearms?

For law enforcement day I was given the opportunity to pass out firearms locks then talk to children on the dangers of firearms. I thought I be patrolling the mall to be honest. But, being a rookie I was assigned to help Harrold pass out gun locks to the parents to keep our children in the community safe from the dangers of an unlocked gun. We also had certificates to pass out to the kids after talking to them about the dangers of a firearm. After they promised to not touch the firearm they would sign this. I wasn’t expecting so many parents wanting me to discuss the dangers of firearms to their children. They also thanks me afterwards so I see the importance. Basically it seems that the children see the badge and like to hear it from an authoritative figure. I feel I did a pretty good job but I’m looking for ideas on how I can improve my discussions on firearm dangers. Thanks!
Thanks so much already I only had about 5 min. with each child

Did the Vietnam-era M16s have safeties on them?

Probably a stupid question for anyone who knows anything about firearms, but I’m not much of a gun person.
